Storyteller at Heart
Dr. Matthew Jenkins was raised by a single mother with 10 children in Southern Alabama. After graduating from Tuskegee University with a degree in Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Jenkins served in the United States Air Force. While being stationed in Greenland, he was the first person to discover rabies there and lead a team dedicated to the eradication of the disease.
In 1974, Dr. Jenkins and his wife Roberta, also a Tuskegee graduate, created SDD Enterprises, Inc, a successful real estate investment and property management firm with businesses in eight states. They also founded The Matthew and Roberta Jenkins Family Foundation. Their foundation has awarded numerous scholarships to deserving students across the country.
Completing this book is a dream fulfilled. After years of public speaking and philanthropic work, Dr. Jenkins took the time to make sure his story was told in a way that would uplift and educate its readers.
